Position: Administrative Assistant
Location: Sacramento, CA

Description: Summary

The Administrative Assistant provides administrative and clerical support within the program administration department.

Key Duties

  • Provides clerical and administrative support within department and to assigned clients
  • Edits and proofreads upon request
  • Responds to requests in a timely and helpful manner
  • Prepares and distributes reports, newsletters, client information, advisories, etc.
  • Creates and maintains electronic data
  • Assists with the preparation of internal and external meetings and other events
  • Analyzes and summarizes data
  • Prepares special filings as required
  • Acts as back up to Receptionist as needed
  • Performs other tasks upon request

Skills & Abilities

  • Typing speed of 40 wpm
  • Evidences strong proficiency in computer skills, including use of all relevant software programs
  • Works in a timely, organized manner, prioritizing workload and assignments
  • Works well independently and utilizes initiative and creativity to identify solutions and solve problems
  • Work evidences excellent written and verbal communication skills, including proofreading skills and grammatical skills
  • Team player that delegates work appropriately, receives delegated work in an appropriate manner, and assists other employees as necessary

Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent; some college preferred
  • Intermediate to advanced level working knowledge of MS Office applications
  • Two to five years clerical, administrative, or office experience
  • Professional demeanor; customer service experience a plus
