BRS' Ergonomics Practice Specialty focuses on helping organizations build work systems and design tasks that maximize the efficiency, comfort, productivity and safety of their employees.

Led by a Certified Industrial Ergonomist (CIE), BRS' team of ergonomists work with clients one on one, solving current and potential physical, cognitive, organizational, and industrial ergonomic issues. Their goal? To ensure the tasks, demands, and system processes match the capabilities of employees, thereby reducing/eliminating musculoskeletal disorders in the workplace. This is accomplished through simple, cost-effective and practical improvements, in conjunction with training.

What We Do

BRS applies the science of ergonomics to complex, often hidden and unexplored, workplace issues that affect an organization's productivity and safety. Striving to improve the relationship between the way employees function and operate in their immediate and global work environments, our ergonomists design and evaluate tasks, jobs, products, environments, and systems in order to make them compatible with the needs, abilities, and limitations of people.

BRS offers the following Ergonomic Training and Consulting Programs:

Ergonomics Team Training

A four-hour workshop designed to assist an organization in establishing an ergonomics process. This includes building "in-house" expertise by developing an ergonomics team and reviewing basic ergonomics principles.

Advanced Ergonomics Office and Industrial Team Training

A six-hour follow-up workshop to the ergonomics team training mentioned above. It further develops "in-house" expertise on performing office workstation ergonomic evaluations, identifying and prioritizing problem jobs/areas, performing job hazard analysis, identifying control measures, and creating follow-up action plans.

Office Ergonomics Team Training

A four-hour workshop designed to train an "in-house" team to perform basic office workstation ergonomic evaluations.

Office Ergonomics for Managers and Supervisors

A two-hour workshop designed to provide managers and supervisors with an understanding of day-to-day ergonomic issues and the tools and the knowledge needed to respond effectively and in a timely manner.

Ergonomics Awareness for Police, Fire, Public Works, and Parks

A two-hour workshop designed to raise employee awareness of risks associated with their jobs and strategies for reducing these risks.
